Creating a crocheted tissue paper napkin holder can be a delightful project. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you make one:

Materials:

  • Worsted weight yarn in your chosen color
  • Crochet hook appropriate for your yarn (commonly 4mm to 5.5mm)
  • Yarn needle
  • Button (optional)
  • Tissue paper or napkins

Instructions:

Step 1: Crochet the Base

  1. Start with a slip knot and chain a length that is slightly longer than the width of your tissue paper or napkins. For example, if your tissue paper is 6 inches wide, you might chain about 8 inches to allow for some stretch.
  2. Single crochet in the second chain from the hook and in each chain across.
  3. Chain 1 and turn. Single crochet in each stitch across.
  4. Repeat step 3 until your piece is wide enough to comfortably hold your tissue paper or napkins. This will depend on the size of your tissue paper or napkins.

Step 3: Button Closure (Optional)

  1. If you want to add a button closure, leave a long tail at the end of your crocheting. Sew a button to one end of the base and create a loop on the other end that fits around the button.

Step 4: Assembly

  1. Fold the rectangle into a tube shape, with the sides meeting. If you added a button closure, wrap the loop around the button to secure the tube.
  2. With a length of yarn and a yarn needle, sew the sides of the tube together, forming the napkin holder.
  3. Weave in any loose ends.

Step 5: Finishing Touches (Optional)

  1. Add any additional embellishments or decorations as desired. You might want to attach a small crochet flower or other decorative elements.

Your crocheted tissue paper napkin holder is now ready to use! Slip in your tissue paper or napkins, and it’s a stylish addition to your table setting. Feel free to experiment with different yarn colors and stitch patterns to match your preferences.
